Anna Traxler – reconsideration of age

Recently, the GRG announced the age validation of Anna Traxler, nee Glicksman. Following the finding of an official birth record, the GRG retracts the previously validated age and presents the correct one. Anna was born as “Rose Glixman” on January 4th 1893, to Samuel and Jane (nee Rosenberg) Glicksman / Glixman. Where she got her claimed birth date of December 12th 1892 from is unknown. It is also unknown to us why she was registered with the name Rose, when she was recorded as Annie in the 1901 England census, and after, Anna. But this can only be her. No other children were born to the couple around that period that were registered. The birth record is clear who the known parents were. So, Anna’s final age was actually 110 years, 107 days.

During the investigation of this case previously, documentation fitted in close enough with her claimed date of birth that we could consider this correct. After all, no validation is beyond reexamination and potential further evidence being added. Having been unable to find a birth record led us to think that Anna was not registered, for whatever reason. But now with this evidence having been brought forward, we can correct her age.
