The GRG announces the age validation of Gladys Anderson, nee Johnson. Gladys was born June 28th 1902 in Kemper County, Mississippi, USA, to John and Daisy Johnson. She was one of ten children to the couple. In 1926, aged 23, Gladys married John Anderson and they had one child – a son named Willie, who sadly died young in a car accident. John sadly passed away at age 100 in 2004. They had reportedly been married for 78 years. Gladys died in a nursing home in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, where she had lived since 2005, on December 3rd 2012, aged 110 years, 158 days.
Her age was verified by Anson Davis and Ilias Leivaditis. This was accepted by the GRG as valid with a retroactive date of October 13th 2016.
