Mary Curley (1882? / 1880 – 1994) revalidation

The GRG announces the revalidation effort for Mary Fredricka Curley, nee Redeske. Mary was initially validated by the Kestenbaum Study as being born November 21st 1882, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA. This validation was then inherited by the GRG. Mary passed away on May 29th 1994 – thus making the initial validation final age 111 years, 189 days.

On August 12th 2023, an application was made for revalidation by myself and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, after careful study of all the documentation, to recognize Mary as having been born November 21st 1880, thus making her age 113 years, 189 days at death. The documentation throughout her life is very consistent. For instance, a ‘female’ Redeske was registered in November of 1880, by her known parents, in the Cook County, Illinois, birth certificate index. In the many census documents with her included, up to the last available-to-view one in 1950, her age was consistent with her having been 113 at death, born November 1880. Her grave inscription, as seen above, also says 1880, as does her Social Security Application index entry and her Social Security Death Index entry.

Given all of the evidence, the GRG has revised Mary’s age to 113 years, 189 days. Born November 21st 1880, passing away May 29th 1994. Mary is considered revalidated with this data as of today’s date.
