Claudia Baccarini was born in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy on 13 October 1910. At some point, she married Pietro Baldi, who served as the Mayor of Faenza from 1951 to 1956. The couple had 10 children.
On 11 September 2020, following the death of 110-year-old Anselma Artusi, she became the oldest known living person in the region of Emilia-Romagna.
On 13 October 2020, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian. At the age 111, she was still in good health, attending mass every afternoon, and still mentally sharp, despite facing some vision problems. It was reported that she consistently consumed light meals, accompanied by moderate amounts of wine, and that she had never smoked.
On 17 November 2023, following the death of 113-year-old Domenica Ercolani, she became the oldest living person in Italy.
Claudia Baccarini died in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 24 December 2024, at the age of 114 years, 72 days.
