Dr. Jay Keller, the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Vermont, celebrated his 110th birthday

The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is pleased to announce that Mr. Dr. Jay Keller, the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Vermont, has celebrated his 110th birthday on 3 June 2026 in the Greater Burlington area, Chittenden County.
Edgar Jay Keller (known by his middle name) was born in Albany, Albany County, New York, USA, on 3 June 1916 (claimed 1 June 1916) to parents Frank Joseph and Adeline (“Addie”) (née Ernst) Keller.
By 1920, the family were living in Missouri. At the age of 9, Jay moved to a boarding house in Burlington, Vermont without his family. He graduated from Burlington’s Cathedral High School in 1934 and was one of five students in his class who were accepted into a two-year pre-med school program at College of Medicine, University of Vermont.
On 10 June 1940, Jay graduated with an M.D. at the same college, and he married Pauline Cecelia Murphy five days later in Burlington, Chittenden County. The couple went on to have at least five children together. Pauline passed away on 15 August 1992, leaving Jay a widower until he remarried to Marie Catherine DiCiaccio (née Fiorino) on 6 February 1999 in Burlington. He was again widowed, this time on 28 January 2024 – Marie was 104.
On 26 January 2022, following the death of 105-year-old Francis Huger Mcadoo (25 February 1916 – 26 January 2022) of Bennington, Jay became the oldest known living man in the U.S. state of Vermont. Later, on 13 October 2022, following the death of 107-year-old Constance Wallin (30 May 1915 – 13 October 2022) of Brattleboro, he became the oldest known living person in the state.
On 3 June 2026, he celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. At that day, his age was validated by the GRG, verified by Harry Miller and Oliver Trim.
Dr. Jay Keller currently lives in the Greater Burlington area, Chittenden County, Vermont, at the age of 110. He is currently the second-oldest man ever from the state, behind Bill James of Bristol.
The GRG extends warm congratulations to Mr. Dr. Jay Keller on his 110th birthday.
