Lillian Moran, Minnesota’s oldest living person, dies at 113
Gerontology Research Group is saddened to report news that Mrs. Lillian Moran, the oldest living person in the U.S state of Minnesota, sadly died in Moorhead, Minnesota, USA on 2 April 2024 at the age of 113 years, 15 days.
Lillian Moran was born in Maddock, North Dakota, USA on 18 March 1911 to Jacob Jacobsen and Emma Nottestad Jacobsen. She married to John Moran in 1940 and they had one son Gary Wayne (1942–2019). Her husband died in November 1963. Moran’s family has a history of longevity. Her mother died at the age of 99, a few months short of her 100th birthday, and her grandmother lived to the age of 103.
On 9 August 2022, following the death of 114-year-old Erna Zahn, she became the oldest living person in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
At the time of her death, she was the fourth-oldest known living person in the United States, behind Elizabeth Francis, Naomi Whitehead, and Herlda Senhouse.
