Anna Wheeler (1833-1943) validation

The GRG announces today the age validation of Anna Searles Wheeler, nee Palmer. Anna was born March 5th 1833 in New Baltimore, Greene County, New York, to Daniel Palmer – her mother passed away shortly after Anna’s birth. She was reportedly the youngest of 11 children born to the pair. Anna married William Wheeler between 1860 and 1865, going on to have three children together. They continued to live in New Baltimore until at least 1880, then moving to Coxsackie, Greene County. William sadly passed away on February 12th 1894, after which Anna did not remarry. For the rest of her life, Anna lived with family. Firstly her daughters and eventually grandchildren. She passed away in Coxsackie, aged 110 years, 289 days, on December 19th 1943. Anna was thought to be the oldest living person in the world before her death.

Her age was verified by Anson Davis, Gabriel Ainsworth, Ilias Leivaditis, et al. This was accepted as validated by the GRG with a retroactive date of July 28th 2017.
