Mary Sorenson (1881-1995) Validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Mary Ann Sorenson, nee Hart. Mary was born in Schenectady County, New York, USA, to Christopher and Elizabeth (Kaley) Hart. In 1904 she married Carl Sorenson, a Norwegian immigrant, going on to have two children – a son and daughter who both survived her. Carl sadly died on October 26th 1941, aged 74, leaving Mary a widow. She did not remarry after. Following his death, she lived with her daughter and family for a time. Mary later moved to South Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont, where she spent the rest of her life. Around the age of 111, she moved into a nursing home in nearby Colchester, Chittenden County. She passed away there aged 113 years, 243 days on July 27th 1995.
Mary’s age was verified by Robert Young, Waclaw Jan Kroczek, myself, et al. This was accepted by the GRG as validated with a retroactive date of July 22nd 2017.
