Lela Powers (1894-2005) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Lela Powers, nee Daniels. Lena was born November 15th 1894 in Center, Shelby County, Texas, to Henry Jefferson and Mary L Daniels. By 1910, the family were living in Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches County, Texas, where Lela would live for most of her life. In 1915, Lela married Denton Daniel Powers in Nacogdoches. They went on to have at least four children together. Denton sadly passed away April 13th 1972, after which Lela did not remarry. Lela herself died in Nacagdoches on April 19th 2005, aged 110 years, 65 days.

Lela’s age was verified by Anson Davis, Ilias Leivaditis and Philipe Prista Lucas. This was accepted as valid with a retroactive date of November 27th 2016.
