The GRG announces the age validation of Bertie Lillian Thierry, nee Bishop. Bertie was born April 22nd 1880 in Bridgeport, Lawrence County, Illinois, USA, to Woodard and Mary Ann Bishop. She had at least three older siblings. On August 22nd 1897, Bertie married Albert B Thierry and reportedly went on to have eight children together. Sadly, Bertie was widowed in 1963 when Albert passed away following a ‘lingering illness’. Bertie herself passed away on February 8th 1992, aged 111 years, 292 days, in a hospital in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois.
Bertie’s age was verified by Daniel Gonik and myself, later accepted as valid by the GRG with a retroactive date of September 7th 2016.
