Mabel Richardson (1890-2001) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Hilda Mabel Richardson, nee Beck, known as Mabel. Mabel was born on July 27th 1890 in Holloway, London, England, to Henry and Jessie Beck. Mabel moved to the US in 1912, arriving on July 24th on the RMS Olympic, sister ship to the RMS Titanic. On July 27th the same year, Mabel married Harold J Richardson, in New York, whom she had met in the UK and had moved out to the US before her. They went on to have one child together – a son named James. The family eventually settled in California, with both working as actors – Mabel mostly as a bit actor and make-up artist for Warner Brothers Studios. Harold, known as John professionally, sadly passed away in 1942 from cancer. Mabel retired in the 1960’s and remained in coastal California. She passed away in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, on March 2nd 2001, aged 110 years, 218 days.
Mabel’s age was verified by Daniel Gonik, Jack Knight and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, later accepted by the GRG with a retroactive date of August 11th 2016.
