Olga Nyman (1886-1996) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Olga Nyman. Olga Margareta Nyman, nee Flygare, was born in Tuna, Vasternorrland, Sweden, on April 6th 1886. In 1902, Olga’s parent’s died very close together, leaving her to care for her sister and provide an income. After corresponding with her uncle in Canada, he sent tickets for them both to come out there to be with him. They emigrated in 1903. On December 24th 1904, Olga married Carl August Johanson and went on to have six children. Olga was sadly widowed in 1932 when Carl passed away. In 1938, she married Rupert Nyman, but he sadly also passed away, in 1947. Olga moved into a nursing home in 1976, remaining there for the last twenty years of her life. She passed away there in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada, aged 110 years, 253 days, on December 15th 1996.
Olga’s age was verified by Nick Erriksson, Anson Davis, Mark Muir, Jason King and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, later accepted as retroactively valid by the GRG on May 4th 2016.
