Henriqueta Soares Marques (1911-present) validation
The GRG is delighted to announce the validation of Henriqueta Soares Marques of Brazil. Henriqueta was born May 6th 1911 in Santana, Sao Paolo, Brazil, then baptised on July 19th 1911. Her parents were Isidoro Soares and Maria Mauro. On November 17th 1934, Henriqueta married Pedro de Oliviera Marques and they went on to have at least two children – Rubens and Deyse.
In 2021, around two months before her 110th birthday, Henriqueta survived COVID-19. Shortly after this she had Pneumonia, but fought this off. Then in May she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian. Although no public reports have been found since turning 110, Henriqueta has been confirmed alive and well at 112 by our new GRG-Brazil correspondent Guilherme Matheus, who contacted the family.
Henriqueta’s age was verified by myself, Guilherme Matheus and Giancarlo Bonansea. The GRG has accepted the case as validated, with a date of acceptance to be announced.
