The GRG announces the age validation of Henry Dummer Hannah. Henry was born March 13th 1868 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, USA, to John and Frances Hannah. They family lived for a time in New York, from at least 1875 until some time between 1900 and 1905, when they moved back to New Jersey. He had at least two siblings. In 1915, Henry married Mary L Woolsey. In 1918, they moved to Connecticut, where Henry would spend the rest of his life. Some time between 1940 and 1950, Mary sadly passed away. Esther Mitchener (1871-1983) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Esther Mitchener, nee Spaulding. Esther was born August 17th 1871 in Edgerton, Johnson County, Kansas, USA, to James and Esther Spaulding. On June 25th 1897, she married William P Mitchener in Tooele, Tooele County, Utah, and they went on to have one daughter, Marcella, in 1899. They reportedly moved to Seattle, King County, Washington, in 1928. William sadly died there in 1942, leaving Esther a widow. After this, she lived with her daughter. Esther passed away in Seattle on April 13th 1983, aged 111 years, 239 days. Her age was verified by Anson Davis, et al, and later accepted by the GRG as…
Catherine Reed (1902-2013) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Catherine Reed, nee Woods, known to those who knew her as Katie. Katie was born January 20th 1902 in St Louis, Missouri, USA, to John and Laura (nee Donville) Woods. She had at least five siblings. She married James Chester Reed when she was just 17, going on to have three children together – two sons and a daughter. They lived in Missouri until at least 1940, but were then living in New Mexico in 1950. James sadly passed away following a car accident in August of 1979. Katie did not remarry after. Clara Sutton (1901-2012) validation
The GRG announces today the age validation of Clara Depew Sutton. Clara was born March 14th 1901 in Rockingham County, (most likely the town of Wentworth, where she spent most of her life) North Carolina, USA. She was the oldest child of James and Annie Sutton. Her mother’s health was reportedly poor, so Clara ended up doing much of the raising of the younger siblings. As such, she never married or had children. She lived in the same house her parents had owned in Wentworth for her whole life, until moving into a nursing home in her final years. She died there, in Reidsville, Rockingham County, aged 111 years, 165…
Lucille Marusek (1913-2023) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Lucille Winifred Marusek (née Martens). Lucille was born on 2 May 1913 in Texas Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, USA to John and Inez Martens. She had at least 3 siblings. On 29 April 1950, Lucille married Stephen James Marusek in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Lucille was sadly widowed on 19 January 2007. She died in Bradenton, Florida, USA on 20 September 2023 at the age of 110 years, 141 days. Her age was verified by myself and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, validated by the GRG on 31 January 2024.
