Biography
Anne Stierli was born in Muri, Aargau, Switzerland, on July 26 1914 to parents Joseph and Rosa Stierli.
In 1929 the family moved to the US, arriving in New York on May 16. They settled in New Jersey. Anne was married twice – firstly to Edward Catalina in 1942, then to Anselmo Zando in 1949. Anselmo passed away on September 30 1987, after which Anne never remarried. She had one child – a son named Frank – with her first husband.
In July 2024 she turned 110, becoming a supercentenarian.
Anne passed away in a care facility in Franklin, Somerset County, New Jersey, on July 25 2025, aged 110 years, 364 days.
