Elizabeth Ramshaw, the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Kansas, dies at 110
The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is sadden to reported that Mrs. Elizabeth May “Lizzy” Ramshaw (née Dickerhoof), the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Kansas, sadly passed away in Osage City, Osage County on 6 June 2026 at the final age of 110 years and 75 days.
Elizabeth Ramshaw was born as Elizabeth May Dickerhoof in Junction Township, Michigan Valley, Osage County, Kansas, USA, on March 23 1916, to parents John William and Lulu Belle (née Thompson) Dickerhoof.
In August 1941, she married George Millard Ramshaw in Michigan Valley. They went on to have at least one child together – a son. George passed away on 16 May 1997, after which Elizabeth never remarried.
On 12 August 2025, following the death of 109-year-old Dorothy Maxine Poppen (22 February 1916 – 12 August 2025) of Downs City, Osborne County, she became the oldest known living person in Kansas.
On 23 March 2026, she turned 110, becoming a supercentenarian. On that day, her age was validated by the GRG, verified by her family.
Elizabeth Ramshaw passed away in Osage City, Osage County, Kansas, on June 6 2026, at the age of 110 years and 75 days.
