Hattie Harshaw, Ohio’s oldest living person, dies at 110

The Gerontology Research Group is saddened to report news that Mrs. Hattie Harshaw, the oldest living person in the U.S. state of Ohio, sadly died in Franklin County, Ohio, USA on 12 November 2024 at the age of 110 years, 335 days.

Hattie Harshaw was born as Hattie Brown in Georgia, USA on 13 December 1913. At some point she married Gennie Harshaw, and the couple had children.

On 13 December 2023, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian.

On 16 October 2024, following the death of 112-year-old Ruby Lockhart of Bryan, Williams County, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Ohio.
