Johanna Sell (1901-2012) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Johanna Emma Sell, nee Stadtlander, known as Jenny. Jenny was born November 28th 1901 in Hardin County, Iowa, USA, to Carl and Gertie Stadtlander. She was reportedly one of nine siblings. At some point between 1905 and 1910, the family moved to Minnesota, settling in Cottonwood County. On June 9th 1937, Jenny married William Sell and they went on to have at least four children together. Her husband sadly passed away on May 6th 1958, leaving Jenny a widow. She did not remarry after this. Jenny lived alone until age 98, moving into a assisted living facility, before moving to another care facility aged 104. She passed away there in Windom, Cottonwood County, Minnesota, on May 1st 2012, aged 110 years, 155 days.

Jenny’s age was verified by Mark Muir and Anson Davis. This was accepted by the GRG as validated with a retroactive date of January 2nd 2017.
