Mary Bailey (1902-2013) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Mary Winifred Bailey, nee Roberts. Mary was born December 17th 1902 in Weston under Penyard, Herefordshire, England. Her mother reportedly died when she was still young. In October 1923, Mary married Victor John Bailey in Amersham, Buckinghamshire and they went on to have one child together – a son named Alan. Mary was sadly widowed in 1932, after which she did not remarry. She also outlived her son, who died in 2004. She moved into a nursing home in Maidenhead, Berkshire, in 2009, staying there until her passing on June 13th 2013, aged 110 years, 178 days.

Mary’s age was verified by Chris Law and Andrew Holmes, accepted as grg validated with a retroactive date of October 16th 2016.
