Sidney Janie Harvey (1883-1995) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Sidney Janie Harvey, nee Gray. Sidney was born May 5th 1883 in Union County, Tennessee, USA. Her parents were Jasper J and Arlene Gray and she had at least six siblings. On December 5th 1900, Sidney married Thomas J Harvey and they went on to have six children. She was sadly widowed on July 28th 1950, after which she didn’t remarry and lived alone. Sidney spent her whole life living in Tennessee, living alone until she reportedly got cancer at age 105. She was successfully treated and recovered, living afterwards with one of her daughters until her death. Sidney passed away May 7th 1995, aged 112 years, 2 days, at the home of her daughter in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.
Sidney’s age was verified by Gabriel Ainsworth, Daniel Gonik and myself, later accepted by the GRG with a retroactive date of August 5th 2016.
