The GRG announces the age validation of Mary Joyce Wooding, nee Bromwich, known as Joyce to those who knew her. Joyce was born September 6th 1911 in Staverton, Northamptonshire, England, and had one younger sister. In July 1946, Joyce married Leslie S Wooding. They moved to live in Wooton, Northamptonshire together. Joyce lived on her own until moving into a care home in 2018. In 2020, she contracted COVID-19, but recovered at age 108. She passed away in Northampton, aged 110 years, 125 days, on January 9th 2022.
Joyce’s age was verified by Waclaw Jan Kroczek and myself, accepted by the GRG as valid with a retroactive date of December 31st 2021.
