Damaris Bryant (1909-2020) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Damaris Josephine Bryant. Damaris was born in Port Morant, Saint Thomas, Jamaica, on May 12th 1909, to Andrew Bryant and Jemima Bryant, nee Taylor. She moved to the UK in the 1950’s, settling in the Wandsworth Borough of London. She worked as a nurse and did charity work during her working life in the UK. She never married or had children. Damaris became a naturalized citizen in late 1967, living in the Battersea area of Wandsworth, where she remained for the rest of her life. She moved into a care home in later years, where she passed away aged 110 years, 353 days, on April 29th 2020.

Damaris’ age was verified by Waclaw Jan Kroczek and myself, accepted by the GRG with a retroactive date of December 27th 2020.
