Henrietta Bruce (1891-2001) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Henrietta Bruce, nee Goddard. Henrietta was born in Barbados (then British West Indies) on July 18th 1891 to William and Henrietta Goddard and was one of 10 children. In 1899, the family moved to the US, first settling in New Jersey. In October of 1921, Henrietta married William B Bruce in New Jersey, going on to have one child – a son name William Bruce Jr. After marrying, the couple moved to Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island, where Henrietta was to spend the rest of her life. She passed away on July 21st 2001, aged 110 years, 3 days, at a nursing facility in Providence, Rhode Island. Henrietta was thought to be the oldest known living Barbadian at the time of her death.
