Catherina van der Linden (1912-present) validation
The GRG announces today the age validation of Catherina van der Linden, nee van Meegen. Catherina was born August 26th 1912 in Amersfoort, Ultrecht, Netherlands. On August 23rd 1940, she married Johannes Wouterus van der Linden and went on to have four children together. In 1955 the family moved to Australia. Due to the conditions and homesickness, they moved back in 1958 to the Netherlands. A year and a half later they decided to go back to Australia and settle permanently in Adelaide. In 1980, Johannes passed away.
At age 111, Catherina lives in Adelaide still and remains in reportedly good health. According to news reports, she visits the gym three times a week. Catherina also holds the title for the oldest known living person in Australia, on the death of Gwen Moore, who was born in Wales.
Her age was verified by Geert Jan Kuiper, myself and Waclaw Jan Kroczek. The GRG then accepted the case on October 4th 2023.
