Louise Signore of New York, USA, has had her age validated by the GRG. Louise was born July 31st 1912 in Harlem, New York, to Italian immigrants. When she was 12, the family moved to the Bronx. In her work life, she worked for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, retiring at age 65 in 1977. At the age of 103, Louise suffered a mugging in her apartment. She survived being knocked to the floor and robbed. In 2022 she fell out of bed and fractured her hip, having surgery to repair this. She recovered well and gets around with a walker at age 111. Louise currently lives in the Bronx.
Louise’s age was verified by Waclaw Jan Kroczek and myself, later accepted by the GRG on July 6th 2023.
The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is a global non-profit dedicated to validating, recording, and researching supercentenarians — those aged 110 or older. Founded in 1990, we focus on human longevity, healthy aging, and studying the lives of the world’s oldest people.
Our work requires significant funding for research, travel, and maintaining our website. Any financial support would greatly aid our mission to advance the understanding of human longevity.
If you wish to support our research financially, please donate to our efforts, but only if you can afford it. We would greatly appreciate even a symbolic support. Thank you!
