Biography

Eulalia Bravo Bravo was born in the municipality of Nopala de Villagran, Hidalgo, Mexico, on February 12 1913 to father Deciderio Bravo Rivera and mother Maria Bravo Chavez. Months after she was born, her mother abandoned her, leaving her in the care of her father, with whom she spent the first years of her life. She then went to live with an uncle.

Eulalia had two children before she met Manuel Fernandez Medina, who became her future husband. They got married on January 29 1950 in the parish of Santa Ana Queretaro. Her third child was born in 1950. The couple had three more children together. Her husband died in 1984 at the age of 90.

On 12 February 2023, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian.

On March 17 2024, following the death of 111-year-old Tranquilina Urrutia Roque, she became the oldest known living person in Mexico.

Eulalia Bravo Bravo currently lives in Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo, Mexico at the age of 113.
