Biography
Carmela Callède was born as Carmela Urizzi Visco, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Austria-Hungary (now Italy), on 29 September 1903. She had five brothers.
At some point, she married Gino Montina and had two children: Edda Ibáñez (born 1930) and Marcel Montina. Later, she joined her husband who had migrated to France around 1933 and who died in 1935 from tuberculosis. After Gino’s death, remarried Robert Callède.
Carmela Callède died in Montauban, Tarn-et-Garonne, Occitanie, France, on 1 October 2013, at the age of 110 years, 2 days. She was survived by her son Marcel Montina, daughter Edda Ibáñez, three grandchildren Patricia, Corinne and Fabien, three great-grandchildren Alexandre, Frederic and Iliana, and one great-great-granddaughter Louise.
