Anna Wagner was born in Euratsfeld, Lower Austria, Austria, on 6 June 1914. In her youth, she managed a small farm with four cows and a few pigs. She attended Euratsfeld Elementary School for eight years. As there was no secondary school available at the time, after completing those eight years, she enrolled in the Home Economics School in Amstetten. She rode her bike to school every day. After her mother passed away when she was 19, Wagner took on the responsibility of caring for her ten-year-old sister and managing the family business alongside her father.

At some point, she got married and went on to have at least one daughter, Margarete Rechberger.

At the age of 90, she boarded a plane for the first time in her life, traveling for a trip to Lourdes, France.

On her 109th birthday, she received congratulations from the municipality, parish, senior citizens’ association, and the Euratsfeld traditional music band. Notable figures such as Abbot Petrus Pilsinger, District Governor Martina Gerersdorfer, and Mayor Johann Weingartner also visited her. The music band performed a serenade in her honor.

Wagner credited her longevity to maintaining her health and staying active, emphasizing that she never allowed herself to feel old or incapable. Her daughter attributed her mother’s longevity and vitality to her positive attitude towards life. She also noted that her mother always lived in moderation, especially when it came to eating.

On 6 June 2024, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

On 17 January 2025, following the death of 113-year-old Margarete Tröestl of Lower Austria, she became the oldest known living person in Austria.

On 13 October 2025, her age was officially validated by the GRG, verified by Thomas Breining and Stefan Jamin.
