Yukiko Honda, the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture, dies at 112

The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is sadden to reported that Mrs. Yukiko Honda (本田幸子), the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, sadly passed away in Kita Ward, Okayama City (岡山市北區) on 19 February 2026 at the final age of 112 years and 341 days.
Yukiko Honda was born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, on 15 March 1913 (Taishō 2). She lived through four eras: Taishō, Shōwa, Heisei, and Reiwa.
On 15 March 2023, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Her age was verified by Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, Japan and Takeo Inishie, and validated by the GRG on 14 June 2024.
On 16 November 2024, following the death of 111-year-old Masako Soga (曽我マサコ) of Ibara City (井原市), she became the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture.
Yukiko Honda passed away in Kita Ward, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, on 19 February 2026, at the age of 112 years and 341 days. Following her death, then 112-year-old Kiyoko Kondō (近藤清子, born 1 September 1913) of Tamano City (玉野市) became the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture.
