The doyennes of Norway turn 111
The Gerontology Research Group is glad to announce that Margit Larsen and Lina Anundsen , the oldest women in Norway, just celebrated their 111th birthday.

Lina Anundsen (née Solheim) was born in Kløverød, near the village of Siljan, in Telemark County, Norway on 12 November 1914, to parents Ole Edvardsen (1882–1963) and Inga Larsdatter (1881–1950). She was the fourth of nine siblings. In her youth, she loved dancing, but after several preachers visited, she became a devout Christian and attended the village prayer house for many years. In 1934, at the age of 20, she married Gunnar Anundsen (1913–2002) and had six children over the next 19 years. Her husband passed away in 2002 at the age of 89. At the age of 101, she moved to a nursing home in Siljan.
On 25 May 2022, following the death of 107-year-old Astrid Lunde, she became the joint oldest known living woman in Norway.
On 27 February 2024, following the death 109-year-old of Vidar Eide, she became the joint-oldest living person in Norway.
Anundsen, along with Margit Larsen, both celebrated their 110th birthdays on 12 November 2024, making them supercentenarians.
Anundsen currently lives at a nursing home – which she moved into at the age of 101 – in Siljan, Telemark, Norway at the age of 111.
Margit Bogetveit was born on November 12 1914 in Åsane, Vestland County, Norway.
When she was six years old, with her family, she moved to Odda, Hordaland County. She was the second of five siblings. In 1950, at the age of 35, she married Erling Larsen, and had one child, Ingebjørg (born 1951). Margit Larsen has three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
