Biography
Margit Bogetveit was born on November 12 1914 in Åsane, Vestland County, Norway.
When she was six years old, with her family, she moved to Odda, Hordaland County. She was the second of five siblings. In 1950, at the age of 35, she married Erling Larsen, and had one child, Ingebjørg (born 1951). Margit Larsen has three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
On 25 May 2022, following the death of 107-year-old Astrid Lunde, she became the joint-oldest living woman in Norway.
On 27 February 2024, following the death 109-year-old of Vidar Eide, she became the joint-oldest living person in Norway.
Larsen passed away in Odda, Norway, at age 111 years, 45 days, on December 27 2025.
