The GRG announces today the age validation of Esther Groneman, nee Krause. Esther was born December 18th 1913 in Clear Creek, Marion County, Kansas, USA, to Emil and Augusta Krause. She was reportedly one of eleven siblings. On June 11th 1935, Esther married Arthur August Groneman and they went on to have four children together. Sadly, Arthur passed away on May 2nd 1989, leaving Esther a widow – after which she did not remarry. Esther herself passed away on February 29th 2024, aged 110 years, 73 days, in Lincolnville, Marion County, Kansas. She outlived all of her siblings.
Esther’s age was verified by myself and Waclaw Jan Kroczek and accepted by the GRG as validated today – March 6th 2024.
The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is a global non-profit dedicated to validating, recording, and researching supercentenarians — those aged 110 or older. Founded in 1990, we focus on human longevity, healthy aging, and studying the lives of the world’s oldest people.
Our work requires significant funding for research, travel, and maintaining our website. Any financial support would greatly aid our mission to advance the understanding of human longevity.
If you wish to support our research financially, please donate to our efforts, but only if you can afford it. We would greatly appreciate even a symbolic support. Thank you!
