Lucy DeFio (1900-2011) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Lucy DeFio, nee Garafola. Lucy was born December 9th 1900 in Queens, New York City, New York, USA, to Vincent and Mary Garafola. She reportedly had 12 siblings. On October 29th 1923, Lucy married John DeFio in Queens, going on to have at least three children together. She led an active life into older age, according to her obituary. Lucy passed away in Suffolk County, New York, on February 8th 2011, aged 110 years, 61 days.

Her age was verified by Anson Davis, et al and accepted as valid by the GRG with a retroactive date – December 26th 2016.
