Validation

Eliza Taylor (1849-1960) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Eliza Taylor, nee Beaumont. Eliza was born December 16th 1849 in Highland Township, Oakland County, Michigan, USA, to Francis and Maria Beaumont. She was one of nine children to her parents. On March 10th 1868, Eliza married James Taylor, going on to have four children together. Approaching his 91st birthday, James passed away on March 20th 1937, leaving Eliza a widow. They had been married for 69 years. Towards the end of her life, after being widowed, Eliza lived with her daughter Ella. She passed away on May 27th 1960, aged 110 years, 163 days, in Highland. She had lived there all her life.

Eliza may have been the world’s oldest woman at the time of her death, but this is unclear – the pending case of Robert Alexander Early has yet to be accepted by Guinness World Records as the oldest living person at that time, having been born in October 1849 and passing away in October 1960.

Eliza’s age was verified by Nick Eriksson, Ilias Leivaditis, et al. This was accepted by the GRG with a retroactive date of November 6th 2016.
