The GRG announces the age validation of Annie Violet Samphire, nee Long, of the UK. Annie was born July 8th 1913 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, to George and Mabel Long. She had eight siblings. In April 1935, Annie married Harry Samphire, going on to have two children together – both daughters. They moved to Australia in the 1950’s, but only stayed two years before returning to England. Annie was sadly widowed in 1996 when Harry passed away, having been married for 61 years. At age 109, Annie moved into a care home in Fareham, Hampshire, where she resides today at age 110.
Annie’s age was verified by myself, accepted by the GRG as validated today, February 6th 2024.
