Horace Baumer (1913-2023) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Horace Wilson Baumer. Horace was born December 17th 1913 in Minersville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA, to Clifford Baumer and Ruth Baumer, nee Williams. On June 23rd 1940, Horace married Genevieve Virginia Petchafski. Sadly, the four children they went on to have together all passed away young. Horace was widowed March 30th 2002, when Genevieve passed away. Until 2022, Horace lived in his own home, but following a fall, moved into a nursing home. On December 24th 2023, he became the oldest known living man in the US, but sadly passed away just six days later on December 30th. He was 110 years, 13 days old when he passed.

Horace’s age was verified by Dejan Vujic, Waclaw Jan Kroczek and myself. This was accepted by the GRG as valid today, February 3rd 2024.
