Isabell Dryden (1888-2000) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Isabell (as spelled in the birth record) Dryden, nee Faskin. Isabel was born October 16th 1888 in Elora, Wellington County, Ontario, Canada, to Samuel Faskin and Maria Elizabeth Faskin, nee Byes. On December 29th 1917, Isabell married Guy William Dryden in Prince Edward County, Ontario. They had two children – a son and a daughter. After marrying, the family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, to raise their family. Sadly, Guy passed away June 7th 1955, leaving Isabell a widow – she did not remarry. Throughout her working life, Isabell was reportedly a much loved and dedicated teacher. She passed away in Vancouver General Hospital at 2AM on July 20th 2000, aged 111 years, 278 days.
Isabell’s age was verified by Robert Young, Filipe Prista Lucas, Heather Bos, Mark Muir and Don Morrison. This was later accepted by the GRG as valid with a retroactive date of July 27th 2016.
