Catherine Ferrell (1912-present) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Catherine Ferrell, formerly Williams, nee Spearman. Catherine was born in Warsaw, Duplin County, North Carolina, USA, on October 10th 1912 to John Gaston and Callie Spearman. She had at least one sibling – a sister. On May 3rd 1933, Catherine married Walter Williams and they went on to have at least one child – a daughter named Margaret. By 1950, Catherine had separated from her husband and was living in Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. On December 30th 1951, Catherine married Maynard Ferrell. She still lives in Durham to this day, at age 111, still walking with the aid of a walking stick. She is the oldest known living person in North Carolina currently.
Catherine’s age was verified by myself and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, accepted as valid by the GRG with a date of January 12th 2024.
