Tane Matsubara (1909-2024)

The Gerontology Research Group is sad to announce the passing of Tane Matsubara of Japan. She passed away today from old age. She attained a final age of 114 years, 93 days, having been born on October 15th 1909. Her death, and the accompanying source, was sent to us by Ayuta Tonomura.

The GRG extends it’s sincere condolences to the family, friends and all who knew Mrs Matsubara. She was an inspiration to many – even as a supercentenarian she was keen to learn and read. She had an incredibly long life, which one hopes the family can draw comfort from.
