Georgia Ellen Cooper (1882-1995) validation
The GRG announces the age validation of Georgia Ellen Cooper, nee Noble. Georgia was born October 19th 1882 in Brookland, Craighead County, Arkansas, USA. On September 25th 1899, at the age of nearly 17, she married John H Cooper and went on to have seven children. One of her sons lived to the age of 102, almost 103. John sadly passed away in 1951, leaving Georgia a widow for the remainder of her life. Georgia passed away in Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma, aged 112 years, 352 days – just 13 days shy of 113.
Whilst there has been some speculation on Georgia’s year of birth (1882 or 1883), the GRG has decided, based on all the evidence gathered, that Georgia’s most likely year of birth was 1882 and was therefore 112 at death.
Georgia’s age was verified by Daniel Gonik, Mark Muir, Waclaw Jan Kroczek, myself, et al, later accepted with a retroactive acceptance date by the GRG of June 3rd 2016.
