Ludwika Kosztyla (1897-2008) validation

The GRG announces the age validation of Ludwika Kosztyla of Poland. Ludwika was born August 3rd 1897 in Brzozów, Poland (then Austria-Hungary), where she spent her whole life. She married a man named Antoni, whom she remained married to for 62 years until his passing. They had six children together – four daughters and two sons. One child died in infancy. Ludwika passed away at age 111 years, 120 days, on December 1st 2008 in her native Brzozow. She is considered one of the oldest people in Poland’s history, as well as the oldest known person in Poland before her death.

Her age was verified by Poland correspondent Waclaw Jan Kroczek, later accepted as retroactively valid on May 1st 2016.
