Ludmila Zemanova (1913-2023) of the Czech Republic
The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is saddened to report the passing of one of the oldest residents in the history of the Czech Republic Mrs. Ludmila Zemanová (1913-2023). Mrs. Zemanová was born in Prague, Austria-Hungary (present-day Czech Republic) on 4 November 1913, and passed away in Smichov, Prague, Czech Republic on 4 June 2023 at the age of 109 years, 212 days, as confirmed by GRG Correspondent for Serbia, Mr. Dejan Vujić, and GRG Correspondent for the Czech Republic, Mr. Adam Komenda.
Mrs. Ludmila Zemanová was one of three last surviving persons in the Czech Republic born in 1913, all of who reached the age of 109. The other two were: Bedřiška Adamičková of Prague (06.10.1913 – 01.09.2023) and Zdeňka Kašparová (03.04.1913 – 13.03.2023) a resident of Úvaly, Central Bohemia.
As of December 2023, the oldest living person in the Czech Republic is Anonymous woman of Olomouc Region, born in July 1916.
