Domenica Ercolani passes away at age 113
The Gerontology Research Group is saddened to report the passing of Domenica Ercolani-Cristoforo of Italy. She was the oldest known living person in Italy before her death. Born July 3rd 1910 in Urbino, Marche, Italy, Domenica went on to marry Cristoforo and had several children. She was a housewife and enjoyed gardening. She outlived her husband, who died in 1986 and a son who died in 1994. Domenica passed away in Pesaro, Marche, Italy, at age 113 years, 137 days, on November 17th 2023. Her age was verified by Mr. Alfredo Nocera, GRG Correspondent for Italy, and validated by the GRG as of April 22, 2023.
The title of Doyenne of Italy goes to 113-year old Claudia Baccarini of Faenza, Emilia-Romagna region.
