Biography
Winnie Lee Powell was born in Tama, Coryell County, Texas, USA, (which is now Fort Hood) on October 10 1911 to parents Bunyan Polk and Annie (“Fannie”) Belle (nee Newman) Powell.
On December 24 1935 she married Ralph Adolph Felps in Lampasas County, Texas, going on to have eight children together. Ralph passed away on November 1982, after which Winnie never married again.
In October 2021 she became a supercentenarian on turning 110. This was to be the first of five such occasions.
Winnie passed away in Burnet County, Texas, on November 20 2025 at the age of 114 years, 41 days.
