Miyoko Hiroyasu, born on January 23, 1911, in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, Japan, has a remarkable life story.

She pursued her passion for art by studying at a school in Tokyo and later went on to become an art teacher in Hiroshima Prefecture. It was during her time there that she met and married her husband.

In September 2019, Miyoko Hiroyasu garnered attention as the oldest (known) living person in Nakatsu. The mayor, Masanori Okuzuka, paid her a visit to honor this milestone.

Then, in January 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday, officially becoming a supercentenarian.

Tragically, after the passing of Kiyo Sato, aged 110, on April 30, 2021, Miyoko Hiroyasu assumed the title of the oldest known living person in Oita Prefecture.

Today, at the impressive age of 112 years and 243 days, Miyoko Hiroyasu continues to reside in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, Japan, a living testament to the remarkable journey of supercentenarians.

Her age was meticulously verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW) and confirmed by Yumi Yamamoto, ultimately being validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on April 28, 2023.
