Biography
Mary Elizabeth Petrillose was born in Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, USA, on May 13 1911 to parents Joseph and Concetta (nee Delmonte) Petrillose.
On November 25 1937 she married James Richard Harris in Ithaca, going on to have at least two children together – both daughters. They lived in Florida, New York and finally Tennessee. James passed away on September 24 2003, leaving Mary a widow for her remaining years. They had been married for sixty-five years.
In May 2021 she became a supercentenarian on turning 110. This was to be the first of five such birthdays.
Mary passed away in Signal Mountain, Hamilton County, Tennessee, on August 22 2025, aged 114 years, 101 days.
