Maria Francesca Pastore, known as Sister Letizia, was born on October 16 1915 in Santeramo, Italy, to parents Letizia Maria Vita Giuseppa Perniola and
Vito Donato Pastore.
She became a nun in 1940, when she was 25, and has continued as such for 85 years.
In October 2025 she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian. Maria Francesca was likely the oldest living nun in Italy. She lived in a monastery in Bitonto, where she passed away on July 30 2026, aged 110 years, 287 days..
