Biography
Hazel Kathleen Downs was born in Somerville, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA, on June 19 1908 to parents Harry Boynton and Margaret Jane (nee Allison) Downs.
In 1935 she married Elmer Winslow Plummer in Somerville, going on to have at least three children together. Elmer passed away on January 19 2000 after sixty-four years of marriage. Hazel remained a widow for her remaining years.
In June 2018 she became a supercentenarian, celebrating her 110th birthday with family and friends. This was to be the first of five such occasions.
Hazel passed away in a care facility in Littleton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on May 25 2023, aged 114 years, 340 days.
