Biography
Erika Pekarz was born in Preßguts (now Ilztal), Weiz, Styria, Austria (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), on August 18 1916 to parents Johann Pekarz and Theresia Gussmag. She was baptized on August 20 1916 in nearby Pischelsdorf.
She had church confirmation on May 25 1926. On October 1 1938 she married Friedrich Wilhelm Klenner in Waehring, Vienna, austria, going on to have at least one child together. In 1964 she married Josef Strohrigel in Vienna. Erika outlived both husbands.
In August 2026 she became a supercentenarian, celebrating her 110th birthday with family and friends. She currently lives in a care facility in Hartberg, Styria, Austria, at age 110.
