Bridget “Bid” Maud Jennings was born on November 18 1914 in Leederville, Vincent, Perth, Western Australia. Her parents were Henry and Eva Jennings.
In 1943 she married Richard James Grocke (known as Jim) and went on to have four children together. Jim passed away in 1985, leaving Bridget a widow.
